Introduction and Caccia

Commissioned by the American Youth Symphony Band and Chorus for the 1987 Delaware Valley Symphonic Band (Media, PA), Bonnie Strang, conductor and their European Goodwill Concert Tour. The international premiere was July 4, 1987, in Dinkelsbuhl, West Germany, with Claude T. Smith conducting. This work is based on two contrasting movements. The introduction is very dramatic and is followed by a vigorous chase (caccia) leading to an exciting finale.
