Danza Sonora

Commissioned by Audio House, Lawrence, KS in honor of Charlie Molina. It’s premiere was July 2, 1983, by the Concert Band at the Midwestern Music Camp at the University of Kansas, with Claude T. Smith conducting. This work, using South American rhythms and melodies has an abundance of syncopation, meter changes and modulations. The finale ends with the allegro vivace and is an effective and exciting concert work.
