Fantasy for Trumpet (trumpet and piano)

The first of two trumpet solos Smith wrote for Carl “Doc” Severinsen. This trumpet solo is perfect for recital, contest or concert setting. A dramatic opening is followed by an Allegro section. Smith then weaves in the blues for the soloist to play a wonderful lyric melody the first time followed by an opportunity to adlib with the chord progression. The solo is most certainly a grade 6 and is available in an edition for trumpet solo and concert band.
