Lisa Galvin
A native Ohioan, Lisa Galvin earned two degrees in Music Education from The Ohio State University, and retired after 30 years of successful
teaching in the Reynoldsburg and Hilliard City School Districts. Her middle and high school bands received critical acclaim at the state and
national level, and she has been an adjunct lecturer in Music Technology at The Ohio State University and Capital University. Additionally, she has served the Ohio Music Education Association as an adjudicator, editor, site host, Conference Registration Co-Chair and as the Ohio Co-Chair for the 2013 State Professional Development Conference. She frequently serves as a guest conductor and clinician for honor bands and other ensembles.

Mrs. Galvin has a long and storied career with the Ohio State University Marching Band. She was a five-year member and squad leader while attending OSU, and worked as a music copyist for the band for many years. She began her ‘unofficial’ tenure on the arranging staff by arranging many of the visiting college band fight songs for the OSU band to perform on home game Saturdays She was awarded a Graduate Teaching Associate scholarship in 2005, and earned her Master of Music Education Degree while serving in that capacity. She joined the Staff Arranger list in 2008, and her music has been featured in several of their viral YouTube videos, including “Hollywood Blockbusters”, “TV Land”, “Sesame Street”, “Spongebob Squarepants” and 2024’s “Ol’ Blue Eyes – The Music of Frank Sinatra”. In 2014, she was asked to join the directing staff as the Co-Interim Associate Director of the band, and enjoyed supporting the Buckeyes all the way to the National Championship that year. Additionally, she previously served as a Co-Director of the OSU Alumni Band – one of the largest alumni organizations in the country that still returns every year to march ‘One More Time!’

Lisa enjoys an active career of creating all types of music, including solos, ensembles and large group concert and marching band works for middle school, high school, college and community band programs. In addition to her work with OSU, she currently serves as Staff Arranger for the Bowling Green State University Falcon Marching Band and the ‘Saluting America’s Band Directors’ Marching Band, whose membership contains over 400 current and retired band directors from across the country. She has also served as Staff Arranger for the Macy’s Great American Marching Band and the New England Honor Band, which recently appeared in the 2025 Rose Parade in Pasadena, CA.
Currently, Lisa is a composer with the C.L. Barnhouse Company, who has published more than 20 of her wind band, string orchestra and jazz ensemble compositions.
