Joseph Metzer is an internationally recognized composer, arranger, and trumpet performer whose career in music spans more than five decades. As a native of Oklahoma, he has established a distinguished record of achievement as both a creative artist and educator, with professional activities extending across multiple regions of the United States.

Joe has served as an arranger for ensembles of all levels in multiple states. He has been a public & private school educator &
administrator, as well as a concert & jazz clinician throughout the state of Oklahoma. He also held the positions of staff arranger and Director of Bands at the University of Tulsa. In these capacities, he demonstrated a sustained commitment to artistic excellence, curriculum development, and the advancement of ensemble performance.

His body of work as a composer and arranger includes dozens of published compositions, which have received international
distribution and performance. His contributions to music education are reflected in the consistent distinction of the concert, marching, and jazz ensembles under his direction, including multiple recognitions at the state level in jazz performance.

As a trumpet performer, he has maintained an active professional career for over fifty years. His performance experience
encompasses appearances with numerous local and regional ensembles, as well as collaborations with many notable touring professionals.

Joe continues to reside in Oklahoma, where he remains active in composition, arranging, and performance.
