Allegheny Portrait

Commissioned for the PMEA District 5 Band Festival, John Manhollan, host, in memory of Raymond C. Schweinberg (1937-1984). The premiere performance was February 15, 1986 at the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association District 5 Band Concert with Claude T. Smith conducting. The original title was “Allegheny Winds”. This work is in overture style and features a clarinet solo in the opening section. This is a strong selection with reasonable technical demands. Available from C.L.
